Brought by the Greek refugees from Adrianoupolis, 17th c.

Plaque with relief of Virgin in the pose of supplication within a frame of delicately wrought florals. This plaque together with two others representing Christ and St John the Baptist make up the composition of the Intercession, signifying the petition for and hope of deliverance. The plaque was a part of sheathing of a piece of ecclesiastical furniture. It is dated to the mid-17th century and is one of the treasures brought by the Greek refugees from Adrianoupolis. Inv.
