The publication presents works of Islamic art that are housed in the Museum of Islamic Art, in the Kerameikos area. It is a guide that can accompany visitors round the Museum halls and inform them about the objects on display, which cover eleven centuries (8th-19th c.) and come from all the regions where Islamic culture flourished. The publication also includes extensive introductory notes on Islamic art, the creator of this collection, Antonis Benakis, as well as the ancient Greek finds that came to light when excavating the foundations of the building.
