Bracelet of two wires twisted around each other terminating at either end in a snakes’ head and part of its body. The flakes imitating the snakes’ skin are incised. The snake, par excellence a chthonic symbol with protective powers and an attribute of many gods, had a significant presence throughout antiquity. The snake-shaped bracelets, already known in the Geometric period, became very popular during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. 2nd-3rd century AD.
