Reproduction of a 19th century candlestick. The seven-branched candlestick, used in the ceremony of breaking and blessing holy bread, has candleholders in the shape of winding stems and in the centre, a cross with the Holy Trinity surrounded by dragons. It is one of the heirlooms brought to Greece by the Greeks from Asia Minor following the exchange of populations after the Treaty of Lausanne between Greece and Turkey in 1922.
