Replica of a flat bone figurine. The original is from Egypt and renders the human figure schematically in the form of a cross. Facial features and anatomical details are indicated by incised concentric circles in such a way that realistic representation is subordinated to symbolic metaphysical qualities. Similar decoration occurs in Coptic minor arts and textiles of the 6th 7th century.
