An elegant cross formed form a fourpetalled rosette. Inscribed on the tiny nielloed disc at the centre is the monogram of the owner, Γεωργίου (George). Cruciform rosettes of this type have been linked with the regions of Syria and Cyprus, and date from the seventh century. Inv. No. 1839
