Decorative plate featuring a representation of a Roman amulet made of hematite in its central part (2nd - 3rd century AD). The winged figures of Eros and Psyche allude to the heroes of the eponymous symbolic story, by the philosopher, rhetorician and poet Apuleius (2nd - 1st century AD). Very popular in Antiquity, this work narrates the checkered love of the god Eros for the mortal Psyche, which finally triumphs after many trials.
