Drop-shaped earring of the early Bronze Age. It represents a type of jewel of the 3rd millennium BC which is found in Euboea, Lemnos and Northern Greece. Granted that gold was rare in the Aegean and on the early Bronze Age mainland, it is evident that jewels made of this metal were not only used as ornaments but as items denoting prestige and social status. Early Bronze Age II - III, 2500 - 2300 BC.
