Silver replica of an icon on a velvet stand with a representation of the Virgin holding Jesus in an aureole and surrounded by angels and saints holding Byzantine instruments of torture. The original is a carved ivory plaque, part of a miniature icon with two leaves in a silver setting with semi-precious stones and a Slavonic inscription dating to 1647. Such miniature icons, which were worn by Church dignitaries on chains around the neck, were made of various materials on metal settings with wire decoration, enamel and semi-precious stones.
