The book, that bears the signature of the Prof. of Architecture Georgios Ang. Prokopiou, deals with the two impressive kozanian odades donated to the Museum; the one by Eleni Stathatou and the other by Dimitrios and Leontas Melas, who offered it to the Foundation as heirs of Alexandra Choremi, the Antonis Benaki’s sister. The in-depth study of Prokopiou includes restorative plans of the original form of the two Kozanian mansions of the 18th century from which these Museum’s woodcuts derive, documentation and representation of the architectural framework for which they were created, as well as an assessment of their importance as prime examples of traditional architecture of Western Macedonia in a time of economic prosperity.
