Hellenistic period necklace

Silver necklace with garnets, replica of superb example of the goldsmith's art of the Hellenistic period from the Benaki Museum collection. Necklaces created of braided bands and pendent vase-shaped or lanceolate beads appeared in the late 4^th century BC and became very popular throughout the Hellenic world up to the 2^nd century BC.
