Silver replica of a gold seal ring depicting a winged Eros holding a wreath (1st century BC). Eros, the personification of love, was the son of Aphrodite. In Ancient Greek Art he is depicted as a winged young boy or child holding a flower, a lyre, a wreath, a ribbon or a bow. He also appears with Aphrodite or in scenes of wedding preparations offering the bride a wreath as a wedding gift.
