Footed bowl

Ceramic footed cup, based on the Byzantine pottery collection of the Benaki Museum. The decoration is executed in the sgraffito technique, faithfully reproducing the tradition of Byzantine glazed pottery: the vase is first covered in white slip, on which the decorative motif is incised. Then comes the glazing, usually in yellow and green.
