Reproduction of an icon of Saint Anna with the Virgin in her arm. The Virgin holds a lily in her hand, symbol of Christ. The original is a mature work of a great artist, perhaps of the renowned painter Angelos, who was active in Crete in the first half of the 15th century. The reproduction is hand-crafted by the artist and icon painter George Bogdanopoulos according to the technique used by Byzantine painters, that is, in egg-tempera combined with earth colours and with polished pure gold leaf.
