This is the catalogue that accompanied the exhibition held at the Benaki Museum (May-June 2001). The book presents characteristic examples of French pottery from the collection of the Musée National de Céramique in Sèvres. The evolution of French pottery is outlined, from the early faiences of the 16th century to modern creations by famous artists such as Pablo Picasso, as are the various techniques for processing the materials and the multiple influences entailed.
