This richly-illustrated publication accompanies the exhibition under the same title organised at the Benaki Museum/ Pireos 138 between 23 September and 7 November 2021. Eleven ceramics are included, made between the 11th and 18th centuries and donated to the Benaki Museum in 1936 by George Eumorfopoulos, one of the major collectors of Asian art of his generation. Thanks to the exhaustive photographic recording and detailed discussion of these items, their iconography is decoded, some of the aesthetic concepts and the beliefs of Koreans at the time are approached and the unique achievements of the potters who made them are explained.
