Paperweight - Snake

Crystal paperweight with a bronze replica of a detail from a marble Asclepios relief of unknown origin, which belongs to the early Hellenistic period (early 3rd century BC). In the original, the god of health is depicted standing, leaning on a staff, in front of his symbol, the snake, which is wound round the trunk of a tree.
