Through a conversational deluge with his friend Christos Alexiou, the artist unfolds an eloquent narrative about the world of his life, his ideology and his painting: his childhood in Tsarist Russia and the Revolution, his arrival in Greece after the Asia Minor Disaster, his apprenticeship alongside Parthenis, the world of the German Occupation in WWII, and the liberating experience of the Resistance in the mountains all become a background through which Semertzidis matures in his view on art.
