Replica of a rectangular palette from the third millennium BC. These objects were probably used as mortars for solid pigments or as cradles for keeping marble statuettes. Typical of early Cycladic stone carving, the palettes provide abundant information on the use of colour by the inhabitants of the Cyclades of this period, both in decorating marble pottery and in cosmetics.
