Keychain - Seal of I. Kapodistrias

Keychain decorated with the design of a gold seal belonging to Ioannis Kapodistrias with a phoenix, the emblem of the first government of Greece (1827-1831). The mythical bird reborn from its ashes symbolized the rebirth of the Greek people.

Created on the occasion of the Benaki Museum’s anniversary exhibition 1821 Before and After.
