Saints Constantine and Helen

Silver amulet made in the beginning of the 19th century. The two saints are shown almost facing each other on either sie of the Holy Cross with cypresses at the sides, within a frame of narrow circles. Above: Christ in a cloud flanked by angels. Coins with representations of the Saints Constanine and Helen, known as "constantinata", are popularly believed to afford protection against epilepsy and fever, and they were worn by children and pregnant women to ward off the evil eye.
