Ceramic female figurine (Tanagraea) with a chiton, a himation wrapped around her body, a sun-hat and a fan in her left hand. The original was made in a Boeotian workshop (325 - 300 BC) and preserves traces of red, blue and brown coloration. These figurines were first found in the Boeotian town of Tanagra although they probably originated in Athens circa 330 BC. Until the late 3rd century BC they appeared as products of many local workshops in Greece and in the Eastern Mediterranean.
