Ceramic replica of a terracotta figurine found in Egypt (3rd century BC). The hair, parted in the middle, is arranged in six ‘slices’ converging into a braided low chignon pinned to the back of the head. This hairstyle is the so-called “melon coiffure”, which was extremely popular in the Hellenistic period.
