The silver-gilt cup with handles in the form of chimeras, a dragon-like fire breathing creature composed of the parts of three animals — a lion, a snake and a goat, is richly decorated with reliefs of foliage, floral designs and anthropomorphic masks. Both the shape and the decor recall the rococo style. The workmanship dates the cup to the end of the 19th century; the manufacturer’s seal/stamp show that it was made in London in 1892. Gold on copper replica.
