Stlengis and aryballos

Replica of a strigil (stlengis) from the Classical period (449-400 BC) and a globular Corinthian aryballos (599-500 BC), featuring a depiction of an aquatic bird (nissa) between two sphinxes. Both objects were used by athletes, the strigil for scraping oil and dirt off their bodies after the contests, and the aryballos for storing and transporting scented oils.
