The 19th century silver bowl from Corfu depicts a sailboat in the centre and and it is decorated with floral designs along its rim. The Ionian islands, especially Corfu and Zante (Zakynthos), became important centres of silverware manufacture, mainly after the Greek Revolution of 1821 when craftsmen fled from Epirus to the islands giving new life to the local production.
