Bronze paperweight, replica of a silver tetradrachm from Athens (late 4th century BC). On the obverse, head of Athena, whose helmet is decorated with three olive leaves and a palmette. On the reverse, in a soncave square, are an owl, an olive branch and the inscription ΑΘΕ. Athena, integrally linked with the city of Athens, as its protecting goddess, after her victory over Poseidon in the contest for reign over the city, and the owl, sacred bird of the goddess, mark the typology of Athenian coins throughout antiquity.
