Silver vessel, replica of a red-figure lekythos from an Attic workshop (475 - 450 BC). The original is attributed to the Bowidoin Painter and depicts an athlete washing his hands over a basin. Lekythoi, oil or myrrh flasks, first fashioned by Attica workshops in the early 6th century BC, remained a popular shape in Greek ceramics until the late 5th century.
