Bottle coaster with decoration derived from a late 18th century icon of Mary Magdalene. The original features mid-way along each side of the icon a large double rose, surrounded by peduncles with leaves and flowers. The rose, a typical rococo decorative motif, has been adapted to the symmetrical canons of the neoclassical style which prevailed in the 19th century.
