Set - 2 wooden trays

Created by metoo (Aliki Kakoulidou & Dimitra Vassilakou) and inspired by traditional Greek costumes of the Benaki Museum collection. Geometric shapes that can be used as place mats, trays, or as autonomous artworks hung on a wall. The concept is based on the deconstruction and reformulation of elements taken from the intricate adornment of a Cretan dress dating from the 17th century. Through a process that includes the removal of colours, the change of scale and focusing on details that depict nature scenes and creatures both existing and imaginary, a post-modern image is formed.
