Gold-plated replica of a gold wreath with ivy leaves and berries probably from Macedonia, an excellent example of the goldsmith's art in Hellenistic times. Gold wreaths from olive, myrtle, laurel or ivy leaves have been found in royal tombs mainly in Macedonia but also in Asia Minor and Southern Italy. In Hellenistic times they were being offered by kings to the worship of Apollo, as can be read in the catalogues of the Treasures of Delos.
