Gold-plated bronze replica of a gold wreath with ivy leaves and berries. The original, perhaps from Macedonia, is a superb example of the goldsmith's art of the Hellenistic period. Gold wreaths of olive leaves, myrtle, laurel or ivy have been found in royal tombs, mainly in Macedonia but also in Asia Minor and Southern Italy. During the Hellenistic period, many similar examples were dedicated by kings to Apollo, as is written the catalogues of the Treasury of Delos.
