Beginning with a commentary on a series of ‘events’ from the 1960s to the 2010s, the book expands into a vivid and rich exploration by the author of the theory, history, nature, function, language, the boundaries and the place of photography as an artistic creation. A special section is devoted to the work of Nelly’s, in the promotion of which the author played a significant role. The volume, designed by Demosthenes Agrafiotis (1946–2025) himself, constitutes the swan song of a distinctive and exceptionally prolific thinker, whose contribution was instrumental in shaping the discourse on photography in the Greek world.
