The spark that led to this publication were the contents of Drawer XXII of the Photographic Archive of the Benaki Museum: it is the space where the Archive’s original photographic material, which has been suffered great to total destruction, is kept. These altered negatives were utilized, in his own original way, by the photographer Leonidas Kourgiantakis, creating photographs with intense aesthetic interest.
