Silver-plated replica of a jug (hydria), probably part of the “Treasure of Thessaly" along with a number of gold jewels and coins. The original was made in a workshop in Thessaly, probably imitating an Asia Minor original (early 3rd century BC). The base of the handle is decorated with a relief female head crowned with a wreath, still bearing vestiges of gilding. The body is decorated with an incised necklace with pendants, a motif often found in black glaze vessels and silver vessels of the early Hellenistic times.
